Models
Models simplify the implementation of a product line. They represent the different SKUs or optional equipment configurations available for a product line/product family. Typically, all models for a specific family share the same controller. The model mechanism allows for a single data dictionary and possibly common embedded software for a complete family of similar products. An example of a product family with a multiple models would be a Rapid Cook Oven family that has the following models:
Single Chamber with Microwave
Dual Chamber with Microwave
Single Chamber without Microwave
Dual Chamber without Microwave
Each of the 4 products share the same family and data dictionary but they are presented in Open Kitchen as different products with different images, models names and customized reports/widgets that are defined by the model.
Sections:
MODEL_ID
This MODEL_ID is provided by Powerhouse Dynamics. It is used with a serial number or other unique identifier to uniquely identify a piece of equipment. It must be included in every data submission to the Open Kitchen servers. It defines the data dictionary used for the connected equipment.
Model Name
Displayed in several places within the Open Kitchen interface. It should match the model's name that the equipment is marketed under, or the SKU name, whichever is most relevant to the equipment brand.
Model Images
Several images are required so that the equipment can be properly visualized within the Open Kitchen interface. These images are defined below and should be submitted alongside the Data Dictionary Document. These images can be photographs or renderings of the equipment based on the Equipment provider's desire. They should be PNG files with a transparent background.
This should be submitted in the form of a PNG file with a transparent background. This should be the brand logo and will appear on the Equipment page of Open Kitchen.
