Duct Sensor Installation

Duct Sensor Installation

This part of the install typically requires a tall ladder or a manual/powered man lift

The supplies should have been ID’d to which RTU they are when testing was done.

  1. Need to start at the furthest supply duct.

If there are hard ceilings - go to alternate solutions, below.

  2. Install sensors in the duct work making sure the metal tip does not touch metal duct.

If you exceed 200' or 10 sensors per run - Will need to connect any cables above that to D2 or D1.

  3. Connect sensor lead to CAT5E/6 cable making sure all sensors are using same color wire in the Cat5 cable.

Never lengthen the lead on a sensor!

  1. Strip end of CAT 5 and connect lead wires to wires in CAT 5 using “Dolphines”.

-Apply sensor wire sticker to the lead wire and ID which RTU it is

  1. Take pictures of each location showing sensor sticker (close up) and location of sensor wide angle.

Close up photo should capture the label and wide angle should capture the location. See examples
