🪛 Pre-install testing

Confirm that each thermostat and HVAC unit is working for both Heating and cooling (if they have both)

  1. Change the temps to trigger Cooling and Heating.

  2. Use temp gun to confirm that temps at supply vent to show the units are producing cooling and heating.

  3. Confirm the thermostats Mechanical settings and take picture for the install app.

  4. Confirm if there are or at not remote sensors in settings.

🪛 SmartStat Installation and set up

  1. Once confirming that unit is working, and mechanical settings picture is taken, remove the front of the stat and take pictures of existing wiring.

  2. Disconnect each existing thermostat one at a time and connect the SmartStat thermostat.

    1. Turn breaker off to the unit that you are going to wire.

  3. Install back plate of new thermostat. Confirming with the picture taken that the wires are landed correctly. (Note Heat pump change over on our stats is W2)

  4. Once the back plate is in place, return to the install app.

    1. Tap “add device” and select thermostat then scan QR code on the back of the thermostat or enter serial number.

    2. Enter Thermostat label in the “Zone/RTU” box using this format: RTU-(#) <Area covered>

      1. EX: RTU-1 Front Sales

  5. Install front of thermostat on the back plate.

    1. Turn breaker back on.

    2. Ensure that the thermostat powers up.

    3. Then program mechanical settings thru the app

      • 📲 Include specific labeling like RTU-1 Front or something that matches customer naming conventions
  6. Make sure Mechanical settings are set the same as the old stat. (use picture to confirm)

  7. Use “P-touch” or other method to label Tstat that is NOT writing on the stat face.

  8. Once completed you will need to install Duct Sensors. Duct Sensor Installation

🪛 SmartStat Testing

Duct sensors must be installed before testing SmartStats.

  1. Test each thermostat.

    • 🌡️ Use temperature gun to verify heat working, cooling working at each
    • 📸 Record measurements and take photos
    • 📝 Label each thermostat with provided sticker
  2. Note if remote sensors are in use.
