There are many different ways to connect equipment to the Open Kitchen platform. The most common approach is to use a Secure Access Point (SAP) and ConnectWare Module (CWM) to create a quick and secure connection while automating much of the provisioning process. In some instances, the equipment does not need a CWM and can connect to the SAP directly.
In the event that the location’s IT team does not want to have an SAP in place, there are other methods of connection. The location’s IT team can emulate the functions of the SAP on their own infrastructure/access point. Some equipment is capable of connecting a CWM to Wi-Fi without an SAP or other access point. ConnectWare Modules that connect via Ethernet cables are available. Also, some equipment is capable of connecting to the Open Kitchen cloud without any additional hardware present.
