Once confirming that unit is working, and mechanical settings are noted, remove the front of the stat and take pictures of existing wiring.
Disconnect each existing thermostat one at a time and connect the SmartStat thermostat.
Install back plate of new thermostat. Confirming with the picture taken that the wires are landed correctly. (Note Heat pump change over on our stats is W2)
Once the back plate is in place, return to the install app.
Tap “add device” and select thermostat then scan QR code on the back of the thermostat or enter serial number.
Enter Thermostat label in the “Zone/RTU” box using this format: RTU-(#) <Area covered>
EX: RTU-1 Front Sales
Install front of thermostat on the back plate.
Ensure that the thermostat powers up.
Then program mechanical settings thru the app
- 📲 Include specific labeling like RTU-1 Front or something that matches customer naming conventions
Make sure Mechanical settings are set the same as the old stat.

Test each thermostat.
