How to set a Static IP on a SiteSage/Open Kitchen Gateway using a PC

SiteSage Gateway Reset and Static Connection

 

To do so:

  1. Press the Reset Button next to the row of 3 lights once

  2. This will cause the Data and Link lights to flash

  3. Once they are done flashing they should turn Green for a second then will turn off

  4. Press the reset button a second time once this happens

  5. The link light should now start flashing between Red and Green until it makes a connection

  6. If it is able to have an IP assigned by the network, it should accept that IP and come online

  7. If a Static is needed, see the below section

 

Setting a Static IP Address on a SiteSage Gateway Device:

 

  1. Hook the reset gateway up to a laptop or desktop computer via Ethernet

  2. Once you have the gateway hooked up, you will need to adjust your IP assignment to match the default of the gateway

  3. Right click on the Network Icon on your Taskbar and click “Open Network & Internet Settings”

  1. Click on “Change Adapter Options”

  2. Right Click on the Ethernet Adapter and select Properties

  3. Find Internet Protocol Version 4 in the list and select Properties

  4. Choose “Use the Following IP address” and use:

    1. IP 169.254.1.250

    2. Subnet should fill automatically

    3. Gateway 169.254.1.1

    4. DNS 8.8.8.8

  5. Open a browser and navigate to 169.254.1.1, you will be prompted for a username and password, these are both “admin” in all lowercase

  6. Once logged in, click on Configure Ethernet

  7. Click Configure

  8. Select Manual from the dropdown menu

  9. Fill in all of the boxes with the relevant information provided by the Network Team for the Static IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS server and click “Apply Network Settings”

  10. If successful, you will get a popup telling you settings have been saved

  11. A Red Banner will appear at the bottom of the page alerting you to reboot the gateway for the changes to take effect. Click on “Reboot Now” to cause the gateway to reboot, then hook it up to the network via ethernet on a switch or router device through the port assigned if there is a specific one

  12. If the gateway has not connected in approximately 5 minutes, unplug the gateway from power and wait 30 seconds then plug the gateway back in to force a refresh of the network state

  13. If the gateway still will not come online, you may need to try configuring it a second time by going through a reset and configuration process.
