Menu Builder
In the Menu Builder you can create, import, and manage your menus. Selecting Import from the upper left corner will generate a popup. After selecting Make and Model, you can upload the appropriate file from your device to add it to the list of usable menus. If you’d like to use this method, please refer to your original equipment manufacturer for instructions on how to construct a menu to be imported. Alternatively, you can click on Create Menu in the upper left.
Create Menu will display a popup asking for a menu name, searchable tags, equipment make, equipment model, menu type, and menu color (for filtering and organizing within the Menu Builder). To make text pop as a tag in the Searchable Tags field, just press enter or click outside of the text box. Each instance will become its own tag that can be removed by clicking the “X” beside it.
Once this tab is completed, select Recipes and Groups in the upper right corner. There are two options to add recipes to the menu. Create Recipe has the same functionality in this section and in the Cookbook section in the navigation bar under Menu Management. Recipes can be transferred as desired between the two. Here, Add Recipe from Cookbook is used.
Some types of equipment have the added ability of grouping recipes into groups and subgroups. An example menu for a TurboChef HHD oven is shown below. In these instances, groups and subgroups will be needed before recipes can be added. For equipment without grouping functionality, the view may look a bit simpler.
If you click on Create Recipe, you will be directed to a popup asking for information that will vary by type of equipment. The following image is for a CTX DZ33T Conveyor Oven. It requests input for the various belt set times and zone temperatures. An optional photo section may be shown in the top right for new recipes. Some types of equipment may be capable of showing this picture on the touch screen onsite. The experience will vary based on which smart kitchen equipment you purchased.
