Overall Dimensions
Enclosure Preparation for Window Option
The dimensions below identify the opening in the exterior surface of the OEM equipment. If a location has not yet been selected, see the section on window placement. The cutout dimensions are the minimum dimensions for access of the internal Wi-Fi antenna signal as well as visibility of the LEDs. All hardware is supplied by the OEM integrator. M3 hardware is depicted below, however 4-40 can also be used if desired.
The window is mounted to the exterior wall with two M3 studs (item 2) and hex nuts. The PCB is installed above the window onto four M3x6mm standoffs (item 3) and screws. Use minimum 6mm standoffs provide adequate space for components under the PCB. Avoid using long standoffs in order to keep the antenna as close to the window as possible for wireless signal strength. The 27.89mm dimension is critical. It sets the location of the window to the PCB.

Product Nameplate Label
The label supplied with the ConnectWare2 Slim kit contains necessary serial number, network address, and regulatory compliance information. The label dimensions are 63mm x 38mm
Note |
---|
Label must be attached to an exterior surface of the equipment to be visible to installers, NRTL testing, and field technicians. |
Note |
---|
If the PCB is replaced for any reason, the label must be replaced as well. |
Optional External Antenna Mounting
The antenna cable connects to the PCB where shown. It is important to add strain relief to this cable nearby to the PCB to avoid damage. The cable diameter is 1.3mm. Locate the antenna within reach of the 1 meter cable. Loop excess cable with minimum 3” bend radius. Do not fold or bend the coaxial cable.
The antenna end of the cable is a rear mount, front nut bulkhead type. A 0.25” or D style hole is required to mount the cable to the cabinet. The antenna is a screw on swivel style connection. Recommend shipping the antenna removed from the enclosure if it will be susceptible to damage during shipping and installation.
Thermal Consideration
The standard configurations without battery backup have a maximum operating temperature of 85°C.
With the battery backup option installed, the maximum operating temperature is 70°C.
